PASt EVENTS

A chance for the people of Bristol to share food, conversation and stories. Meet new people, make connections and share recipes.

When we asked you what activity you would be inspired to get involved with in your community, lots of you suggested communal meals and food sharing. We couldn’t agree more about how important this is, never more so than now when we are so cut off from one another.

So we are taking your suggestion to heart and inviting you to join people across the city at our online community feasts!

We’ll meet on the Zoom link that you will find below*. Come alone, come in pairs, bring the kids or put them to bed. Bring your dinner. Perhaps bring a special recipe that you want to share with the group. Lots of people wanted to learn new recipes, especially those from different cultures. Bring a photo, document or link to share.

We’ll split into ‘tables’, eat together and talk about food, culture and more.

We are holding four of these dinners in March and you can come to as many as you like. They are free to attend as always. We look forward to seeing you there!

*Please register so we know how many people to expect and so we can send you updates. Paste the following Zoom link into your browser address bar to join the event. If you need support or assistance, please email florence@bristolfoodnetwork.org

Celebrate good food and good health at the next #BiteBackBetter event – a cook along with Grace Ekall.

About this Event

In this workshop, Grace will teach you how to prepare a simple comforting and nutritious dish. Most importantly, you’ll be empowered to take the driving seat of your health and learn how to start today.

We will be cooking Bean Chilli. Bring along the ingredients listed on the event page to join in with the cook-along or just watch and learn.

Grace Ekall is a former professional dancer, a cook and wellbeing coach. Founder of the Habits That Heal platform and creator of a healthy hot sauce range called Taste MAKOSSA and uses dance as a vehicle for her well-being methodology. She helps busy women to take back control of their health with specific foods, physical activities and Mindset and runs a Facebook community called: Women Entrepreneurs Habits – That Heal.

Grace has an infectious passion and energy, and a great deal of knowledge and experience in eating for health. Prepare to be inspired to #BiteBackBetter!

Celebrate local food initiatives in the first #BiteBackBetter event. Meet the team at Heart of BS13 with local at the heart of what they do.

About this Event

Heart of BS13 Kitchen Garden Enterprise is a social enterprise based in South Bristol. The KGE sells veg boxes and seasonal cut flowers as well as running horticultural and volunteer trainee programmes, workshops and events.

Join us at 7PM on 8th December to learn more about how Heart of BS13 champions food from field to fork, using it to feed and educate the community, improve physical and mental health, and protect our environment.

The evening will include a tour of the market garden and wildlife area, interviews with some of the participants and a cooking demo from the Real Meals Store kitchen where we will be using produce from the garden to cook up one of our healthy real meals.
