Organise a fundraising activity

Could your organisation fundraise and raise awareness for a local food charity working in food insecurity or a food bank?

Charities that support people in food insecurity also have to fund costs such as transport, refrigeration equipment and premises. Fundraising for one of these charities is a great way to help them meet these costs and fund meals for vulnerable people.

There are so many ways to fundraise, and fundraising with colleagues can be a particularly rewarding experience. Whether you’re up for a gruelling cycling challenge or a sedate charity bake sale, a spectacular dinner gala or a lunchtime raffle, raising awareness and money is fun and sociable.

Perhaps your organisation has the means to go further and choose a local food poverty charity as ‘charity of the year’. Long term charity support projects have the potential to raise significant funds, raise awareness amongst your stakeholders and demonstrate your organisation’s ethical priorities. If your company is able to support a charity financially, many of those working to address food insecurity have donation pages on their websites.
