Use community organisation services

If you need to hire a meeting room or conference venue, or you are taking the office out to dinner, consider using a community organisation that offers such services. Sales from commercial clients will go to help support the organisation, and may help subsidise services to others in the local community.

Some community growing projects in the city are on beautiful sites with rooms and outdoor spaces to hold meetings. So if you are hosting a tricky meeting, hiring a roundhouse on the Dundry Slopes or a meeting room at a city farm might help you get a different perspective on a problem.

Groups that work in the community teaching cookery or gardening skills, may be able to offer their services at your workplace, or at an event for a fee. Supporting these groups can help make them more financially sustainable and can provide valuable opportunities and experience for their volunteers.
